The Wisconsin Arts Board is proud to continue providing support for
Wisconsin nonprofit arts organizations—our partners in serving the people
of Wisconsin on the local level—under a new grant entitled
Creation and Presentation program (CPP). This program is the culmination of several years
of input from Wisconsin nonprofit arts organizations and other partners, and
replaces the Arts Board’s Artistic Program Support I, Artistic Program
Support II, and Performing Arts Network-Wisconsin grant programs.
Creation and Presentation grants provide artistic program and operational
support to established nonprofit arts organizations whose primary mission is
to create or present ongoing arts programming that makes a significant
local, regional, or statewide impact on the cultural life of Wisconsin, and
that furthers the Arts Board’s community development and arts education
goals (see the Arts Board’s strategic plan).
The program supports 501(c) 3 nonprofit arts organizations with strong
operations - including stable management, ongoing assessment and evaluation,
high artistic quality, and programming appropriate to the communities they
serve. These grants also fund overall operating support for eligible arts
programs of tribal governments and universities. In these cases, the
organizations will use either government or university nonprofit status.
This is a
multi-year grant program. The first group (Music, Opera/Music Theater, Theater)
will apply in odd calendar years (2009, for example) with a full, six page
narrative “On-Year” application, and in even calendar years with a one page,
interim narrative “Off-Year” application. The second group will apply in even
calendar years (2010, for example) with a full, six page narrative “On-Year”
application, and in odd calendar years with a one page, interim narrative
“Off-Year” application.
How to Apply
Requests for grants must first be submitted through the Wisconsin Arts Board eGRANT system. After submitting the
CPP application through eGRANT, a
paper application package is also required. Copies of the completed CPP
application forms and additional supporting materials must be received by the
Wisconsin Arts Board, postmarked or hand delivered no later than one working day later than the eGRANT deadline.
If you are unfamiliar with the eGRANT system, we recommend that you first read
the eGRANT Tips and Instructions page.
For arts organizations, a
Federal Identification Number, assigned by the Internal Revenue Service, and
a DUNS number are required before a grant can be made.
For more information regarding this financial history “DUNS” number, please
visit this website. This website has instructions on how to apply for a
number via the internet.
For those applicants who don’t have
the technology or don’t have access to the technology to complete the
application online, you must contact the Wisconsin Arts Board at 608-266-0190 or artsboard@wisconsin.gov.
