2004 Percent for Art Direct Purchase Program
Released: September, 2004
Through the Wisconsin Arts Board’s Percent for Art Direct Purchase
Program, twenty-two state agencies recently selected artworks by forty-seven
Wisconsin artists, valued at over $103,000. The agencies participating in the
Direct Purchase Program had Percent for Art allocations ranging from $600 to
$16,000, and through this project they were able to select works of art
already in existence rather than going through the lengthy commissioning
process used for larger allocations. Once acquired, the selected artworks will
be permanently installed at interior sites in agency buildings and become part
of Wisconsin’s growing public art collection. View
