Inna Larsen, Hardanger fiddle, will introduce listeners
to the traditional folk music of Norway, as well as melodies brought by
Norwegian immigrants to Wisconsin. The performances are accompanied by
brief descriptions of the history/origins of tunes from various part of
Norway. The Hardanger fiddle is an exquisitely decorated Norwegian folk
violin with extra sympathetic strings, which give it a flowing, shimmering
sound. Ms. Larsen plays for Scandinavian, old-time music, and community
festivals, as well as for Sons of Norway, weddings and at
bookstores/coffee house venues.
