Ol’ Man River Band
Ol’
Man River Band is an old-time string band specializing in Civil War era
music and dance. The group has performed at Civil War Re-enactments and
living history events for over fifteen years. Ol’ Man River Band includes
accomplished musicians and a dance caller who is adept at leading people
through traditional American dances. The group provides full or partial
day programs including performances/assemblies of Civil War music and
history (20-60 minutes), participatory dances of the era (20 minutes-full
evening), or a combination. Through the tunes, instruments, words,
costumes, and dances of Ol’ Man River Band, groups of all ages grow to
understand the significance of music during this turbulent time in our
history.
