Present
Music is Milwaukee’s internationally acclaimed new-music ensemble that
commissions, performs and records the music of our time. Founded in 1982
by Kevin Stalheim, Present Music commissions and works closely with many
of the nation’s most exciting and important composers. In addition,
Present Music celebrates its 24th season in Milwaukee with premieres,
celebrations and works from around the world. Present Music has toured
extensively throughout the United States and has participated in several
major international music festivals. Currently, Present Music can be heard
on eight compact disc recordings that include composers Kamran Ince,
Michael Torke, Daniel Lentz and Joseph Koykkar on the Argo, Albany, Aoede,
Northeastern and innova labels.
