Salty Strings
John and Connie Nicholas can make you laugh or send you
soul-searching with their distinctive blend of traditional, ancient, and
contemporary songs. You’ll find them in various settings—from concerts and
coffee shops to private groups, care facilities, weddings, funerals, ministry
and church services. Instruments include hammer and mountain dulcimer, guitar,
bouzouki, mandolin, autoharp, bowed psaltery, whistles, spoons, bones, etc.
Their unique humor endears them to audiences with a down-to-earth manner making
people instantly comfortable around them. Various styles from folk, Celtic and
’60s-’70s singer/song writer to hymns, contemporary Christian, golden oldies,
and classical give them multi-generational appeal.
