Optimist Theatre, Inc.

Arts in Education Artist

William Shakespeare comes to life in “To Be! Shakespeare Here and Now.” This engaging, interactive presentation emphasizes Shakespeare’s humor and humanity, and leaves students excited about Shakespeare and his works.

“To Be!” plays for grades K-12 as large group presentations, class workshops, teachers’ workshops, and acting rehearsals. It includes student participation, comedy, sword-fights, drama, and Shakespeare’s life and times. “To Be!” has played throughout the eastern and midwest U.S. for over ten years.

Prabha Lockwood, library director at North Barrington School, says, “Just as Shakespeare understood people as few other artists have, Ron has an exceptional ability to understand and work with his audience.”

Ron is the former Artistic Director for the Bristol Renaissance Faire and founding Artistic Director for Optimist Theatre (formerly Midwest Children’s Theatre) a non-profit 501(c)3 incorporated in 1993.
